Tired of Straight, Droopy Lashes? When a Lash & Lift + Tint Works

By SALT Beauty Co | October 15, 2026

I hear this all the time in Newport Beach: your lashes are there, but they point straight down, mascara smudges on beach days, and you still don’t look “awake.” One client called her lashes “a game changer” because she could leave the house with zero makeup and still feel ready. A Lash Lift & Tint helps most when you have natural lash length to lift. It’s not for very sparse lashes or recent extensions, but for straight lashes that won’t hold curl, it’s one of the fastest fixes.

Lash & lift in Newport Beach with lash lift and tint for straight, droopy lashes

Quick reality check: a lift changes the shape of your natural lashes. It won’t add brand-new lashes where you don’t have them. If your lashes are medium-length but stubbornly straight, that’s the sweet spot.

Straight lashes aren’t “short, ” they’re just pointing the wrong direction

Straight, downward-pointing lashes can make your eyes look smaller, even when you have decent length. A lot of people end up stacking mascara, heating a lash curler, or wearing strip lashes on repeat. The problem is that curl and glue don’t always play nice with real life.

If you’re in and out of salt air, sweating through workouts, or bouncing between beach days and meetings, mascara tends to smudge or flake. And if your lashes naturally point down, mascara can even make them look heavier. That’s why a lift is such a go-to for low-maintenance routines around Newport Beach. You get that open-eye look without adding a long morning step.

If you’ve been thinking “my lashes disappear, ” the issue is often direction. Lifting them up and out can make them look longer instantly, even before tint.

How Lash Lift & Tint creates curl and “mascara look” definition

My Lash Lift & Tint is a 70-minute appointment ($130) where I reshape your natural lashes so they sit lifted and curled instead of straight or downward. Then I add a tint so your lashes read darker at the base and through the tips. For a lot of people, that combo is the difference between “I’m bare-faced” and “I look put together.”

This is the part people love: you’re not dealing with mascara transfer, and you’re not trying to force a curl that falls in an hour. I’ve had lift-and-tint clients tell me they love not having to wear mascara and feeling ready to go in the morning. Another regular comes in every 8 weeks because she’s “sooo obsessed” with how consistent the results are.

“Legitimately the best lash lift of my life !!! … today is May 14th and it seriously looks like I got them done yesterday!! 10/10 recommend!!!”

How long it lasts (and why it varies)

Most people see their lift and tint hold for about 6 to 8 weeks. Your lash growth cycle controls that timeline, so the fade tends to be gradual. If you’re rough on your eyes, using oily products right away, or living in the ocean and pool, you can shorten your wear time.

Newport Beach tip: salt air and sunscreen oils are real. For the first 48 hours, I want you to keep things clean and light around the eye area so your lift sets the way it should.

Is a Korean lash lift right for your lashes (or do you need a different plan)?

A Korean lash lift and tint tends to be a great fit when your natural lashes have some length but don’t show up because they point down. If you want a low-maintenance look, this is usually the easiest way to get there. People also love it as a “reset” after overdoing lash glue and strip lashes. I’ll talk you through what I’m seeing and what style makes sense for your eye shape.

It’s usually not the best choice if your lashes are very sparse, or if you’ve had eyelash extensions recently. I like a 6 to 8 week gap after extensions so your natural lashes have time to cycle and recover before a lift. And if you have an active eye infection or you’re healing from an eye procedure, let me know first so we can make the safest call.

If you need more length or volume: extensions can be a better match. If you need more density over time, growth serums are worth a conversation too.

Aftercare that actually matters in Newport Beach: 48 hours, beach days, and facials

The first 24 to 48 hours are when your lift sets and stays crisp. Treat that window like it’s important, because it is.

  • Don’t rub your eyes. Be gentle when cleansing.
  • Skip steam, saunas, and super hot showers right away.
  • Avoid heavy oil-based products around the eye area for the first couple days.
  • Be mindful with chlorine and saltwater in the first week. If you swim or surf, rinse and pat dry after.
  • Hold off on exfoliating facials near the eye area during the first week. If you have one scheduled, tell me the date so we can time your lift.

A lot of my lift-and-tint clients say the studio is calm enough that they nap through the appointment. I love that, but I also love when you leave knowing exactly how to keep your lashes looking great for weeks.

Why I’m picky about timing, comfort, and details at SALT Beauty Co

I’ve been doing lashes in Newport Beach for 4 years, and the pattern is clear. People stay when they feel listened to, they’re comfortable the whole time, and the results look like what they asked for. I hear “gentle, ” “took her time, ” and “so detailed” constantly, which tells me I’m doing the part that matters.

I’m in the Balboa Village and Lido Marina area, so it’s an easy stop if you’re already down by the harbor. A lot of clients also come in from Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Corona del Mar because they want consistent work in a clean, quiet space.
